remove transmission, usually dont come loose, might be a different problem

Dont know if its different for a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but usually the fusebox is under the hood directly to the right, which has all of the fuses
have you replaced the dimmer switch? if not that may be the problem. I had the same problem in reverse( brights worked but headlights didn't) water damaged the dimmer switch on the steering column once I replaced it all was good.

Absolutely... IF they want your cars on their lot. Dont bring a jeep Cherokee to a Mercedes dealer for example.
it is in a part the dealer knows as the midcase if you dont have heat order the part and install it it will fix your problem
take off the bolts to the old one dont drop in engine place some gasket sealer on the new one and replace dont over tighten the bolts.
There is a short in your system some where. check the fuses. and check the flasher but jeeps are notoris for eletrical problems

1998 Grand Cherokee has Disk/Pads... Shoes and they arent too hard it just takes awhile if you dont know what your doing and remember how you took them apart.
