depending on vehicle type, there should be a switch box on the transmission where the shift lever/cable attatches which has probably gone bad. the other type of reverse switch is located on your shifter. check these, assuming all fuses have been checked and are ok.
The problem is the reverse light switch. It is located on the top of the transmission that should sloved your problem.
Try bypassing the reverse light switch that plugs into the transmission. If your reverse lights come on, voila! Problem solved. Buy a new switch.
the reverse light switch is either out of adjustment. or broken. new one should be fairly cheap
Check the fuse, the bulbs, and the brake light switch.
presuming you've checked all the fuses and relays theres a sender switch on the transmission should have 2 wires attached to it.. make sure the wires are not disconnected or damaged
if you changed the bulbs and still nothing.. its the reverse switch that's on the tranny. about a 10$ fix and 5 min to replace. good luck!
The reverse light sensor switch on the gearbox needs replacing. The switch is normally located on top of the gearbox & around the middle of underneath the air intake box.
No problem, bring it in first thing in the morning and i will get right on it......
could be the neutral saftey switch .
check the bulbs themselves they sometimes short out internaly & cause feedback also check sidemarker lights I have changed all bulbs and fuses! Wiring problem???
Sounds like a blown fuse. Quick, cheap and easy fix. If not the fuses are fine then it may be a bad headlight switch.
It could be the fuse that also controls your dash lights. It is a 15 amp fuse in the box under the hood labeled "small lights".
how do i fix my daytime running lights on my 2001 grand prix gt headlights work perfect
your car uses the same fuse for the turn signals and the back up lamps, so if your turn signals work its not the fuse. You should check the bulbs first as this is the easiest fix. If the bulbs are good, then it is the back up light switch in the transmission. The part will cost you about $16 if it is a manual or about $35 if it is automatic. The part is very simple to change. It can be reached from the driver side wheel well when the wheels are turned all the way to the right. When you look in between the wheel and the fender, you will see it above the trans-axle.
Tell us what's wrong with them and what country you're in and we'd be glad to help.
I suspect either a faulty ground circuit, or a much easier fix, faulty bulb/bulbs. You might be surprised the havoc a grounded out bulb will cause an electrical system.
Try some new batteries. If tht dont work...buy a new one
did you check the reverse switch on the trans ?
When the shifter goes to the reverse position a switch is depressed to turn on the back up lights. The switch is most likely on the top of the transmission.
The headlights work on a totally different relay than the parking and fog lights. The headlight relay or headlight fuse is usually blown when only the parking and fog lights work.
check the turn signal switch located under the drivers side steering column or check the ground on the motor to the vehicle amd make sure their is no rust or check the throats where you insert your bulbs for breakage
reverse black and red wires
because your husband is to lazy to fix them
