Your leopard gecko could be skinny due to malnutrition. Offer your animal some live feeders gutloaded and coated in calcium. If you notice your leo's tail starts to become wavy, these are the first signs of MBD (metabolic bone disease). Meaning the animal is now drawing calcium from its bones in order to survive due to the lack in diet. Once MBD has taken place It will start to draw calcium from the limbs, head and spine. At this point the disease is not reversible.

Fat tailed geckos have fat tails because that's where they store extra food so either he/she is not eating enough or it has worms (very unlikely) which can be treated by a herp vet.

How can you tell if your leopard gecko is ill?

the best way to tell if your leopard gecko is healthy by the look of their tail. if it is fat then that means your Leo is doing good, but if it is skinny then he is not healthy and not happy. however, baby leos are supposed to have skinny tails when they are born so don't get confused if it looks unhealthy.

Your leopard gecko is not eating tail is very thin eyes and mouth are covered in dead skin and it is almost never moving what is wrong with it?

It is very very sick. Get it to the nearest vet, (yes vets treat geckos) or it might be too late. :( How did it look like when you first got it?

How can i make my leopard gecko fat?

Keep on feeding your gecko. Don't feed it too much though or else it'll die.Yeah but, I got my gecko about 2 years ago when he was already an adult. I live about 4 miles away from the nearest petshop so i accidentally ended up starving him for about 2 months, i know its sick and if feel really bad. His tail is now very, very thin and he wont eat. I have managed to feed him a few mealworms and pachnodas and now have superworms. But i wanna make his tail get a lot bigger and make him healthy so what is the best food for him to eat, i heard pachnodas have a lot of protein but how can i build up his tail?- Jonny666

What are th physical characteristics of a African fat tailed gecko?

The Fat-tailed gecko will grow to be 6 to 10 inches. Females being 6 to 8 inches, and males being 8 to 10 inches. They will live 15 to 20 years. The normal coloring is brown and tan stripes, with a possible thin white stripe along the length of the back. The under belly is pale pink or off-white.The Fat-tailed gecko is equipped with the natural defense of being able to lose their tails when attacked by a predator. The tail is also where they store their fat, an important energy reserve. If the tail is lost the new tail will look more similar to the head (fat and stubby), and may not match the coloration patterns of the body of the gecko. With its tail, an African fat tailed gecko can go days on end without food. For the source and more detailed information concerning this subject, click on the related links section (Answers.com) indicated below this answer box.The Fat-tailed gecko will grow to be 6 to 10 inches. How does the length of a kites tail affect the wait flies?

The tail causes drag and keeps the kite stable. By pulling down, on the part of the kite it is attached to, it keeps it orientated upright and more stable. The longer the tail, the more drag. A short tail, may not be enough in a strong wind to stabilise the kite. A tail that is too long, may cause difficulties in getting it off the ground in a light wind.
