Because both Rachel and Annabeth like Percy. In the start of the fifth book, Rachel asked Percy how a girl could get a guy to kiss her and she used the word hypothetically. Usually, when someone says "hypothetically" it means really, they're just too embarrassed to say it. At the end of the book, after Rachel becomes the oracle (who's not allowed to date boys) they get along. At the very end, when Annabeth says "So I guess Rachel won't be dating any boys," Percy says, "You don't sound disappointed.

Well Annabeth is a daughter of Athena and Percy is a son of Poseidon. Their parents are enemies, they have been ever since they competed to see who would get a greek city named after them. Athena won (hence the city Athens in Greece). So Annabeth feels they can not be friends due to parental disputes. Hope this helps
He make me fill like a loser like you
The charactor you are talking about is called Annabeth. Annabeth is a daughter of Athena, goddess of wisdom. Annabeth ran away from home when she was 7 years old because she did not feel wanted by her stepmother and her father. She joined Luke, son of Hermes, god of theives and Thalia, daughter of Zeus, god of the sky. It was Luke who gave Annabeth her first weapon, a small dagger. After, the three found their way into Camp Half-Blood, a safe place for demigods like them. Annabeth says that Camp Half-Blood was her life. When Annabeth became 12, she met a boy called Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon. First they were not friendly to each other seeing that the first thing she said to him was,"You drool when you sleep". After, when they go on a quest to retrieve Zeus' master bolt, they become good friends. 3 years after Annabeth meets Percy, they start going out and kisses are exchanged. Annabeth's dream is to be an architect and her dream is fulfilled when Olympus breaks down and she is chosen to rebuild and design Mount Olympus. Her fatal flaw is pride. Couple of months after the Titan War, Percy mysteriously disappears. Annabeth desparately searched for him but she cannot find him. Percy is at Camp Jupiter, a camp for Roman demigods. In the book that is coming out in October 2012, The Mark of Athena, The first point of view is going to be from Annabeth, as she is flying to see Percy again. If you have any questions because I have left some bits out, please leave a message on my message board. Or just go on Wikipedia and type "Annabeth Chase".

Percy Jackson is the first son of Poseidon, the God of the Sea, to arrive at Camp Half-Blood. Poseidon is also one of the Big Three, which makes Percy dangerous.
