What was the name of the Canadian General who was able to outsmart the American troops?
Isaac Brock was one, and Tecumseh was another. They both died, but without either one of them the war would have been quite hopeless for the British. (there were others who played a large roll, such as James Fitzgibbon, a hero in Upper Canada, as well as Laura Secord, Tenskwatawa, Charles de Salaberry, and many others kept the Canadians alive in the war.)
Asked in History of Canada, Louis Riel
Was Louis Riel a hero or a traitor?
I think that Louis Riel was both a hero and a traitor becuase to some people he was a hero but for others he was a triator . __________________ Riel is both a hero and a traitor. To Canada Riel is a traitor, a criminal, a murderous villain. Riel stood up for the rights of those who lived in and had rightful claim to, lands Canada bought from the Hudson Bay Company. Lands Canada wanted everyone to think of as empty of people. To many in the lands colonised by Canada Riel is a hero for standing up against Canada, standing up for the rights of the little guy against a violent colonizer. To many in Quebec he is a hero because he was French and stood up to an English Canada, an Ontario Canada.
What territory did Americans want to conquer in the War of 1812?
In the War of 1812, the USA intended to capture Canada and add it to USA territory. Many US politicians claimed that conquering Canada would be "as easy as marching," meaning that all US troops had to do was show up at the border and Canada would surrender without a fight. Were they ever wrong! Canada did not wait for the US troops to arrive. Instead, although being outnumbered many times over, Canada took the offensive and captured several American strongholds, often without a fight. Canada's brilliant military strategist, Sir Isaac Brock, repelled every US attempt to invade Canada, inflicting heavy losses on the American while incurring only minor ones on the Canadian side. Sir Isaac Brock died a hero during the Battle of Queenston Heights.

Who were the heroes of the War of 1812?
Sir Isaac Brock was one of the greatest heroes of the War of 1812. Through his strategic brilliance, Brock was able to defeat the USA in every one of the early battles during the war. Had Brock not died a valiant hero at Queenston Heights, it is entirely likely that the USA would have been defeated and returned to the British Empire. Answer The most notable hero on the American side was Andrew Jackson, whose efforts in the Battle of New Orleans (although after the end of the war) gained him national fame. This was one of the largest contributing factors in gaining the presidency.
