The play 'Macbeth' wasn't one of the comedies by William Shakespeare [Baptized April 26, 1564-April 23, 1616]. So it wasn't intended to be amusing. But the play did contain an amusing interaction, in Act 2 Scene 3. That scene contained the interaction of the drunken, carousing Porter with the noble Scotsmen Lennox and Macduff.

Back when in the early 1500's when Shakespeare was at his peak of playwriting and acting he wrote about his king. He made sure though not to insult his valiant king to the people but make him look 'fairly honorable'. The people loved the twist in the plot with murder, lies and drama between the most important people in the country, it was different from anything else they heard and was one of the greatest plays still to this day.

It starts off with some pretty scary witches who make two more appearances in the play. There's an ambush-murder and fighting. There's the appearance of a ghost at a dinner-party which makes the host act like a madman. There's the opportunity for a spectacular long fight scene with swords at the end. Plus there are all kinds of people soaked in blood, including a sergeant, a murderer, a ghost, and a child, and the appearance of a severed head at the end. These are the superficial things. The psychological drama of two people making a bad choice and slowly being destroyed by it is also gripping.
