That question might have been asked by a recruiter or in a local tavern and is only intended to stir up a brawl. The US Fleet has strategic weapons designed to vaporise cities, countries and continents that the Army lacks. The Navy and Marine Corps Fighter Squadons would tip the balance over Army Helicopters and sheer numbers. Balistic missles provide a bigger bang then MLRS and artillery. The Navy, Marines and Air Force are not intended to hold terrain; that's why the Army exists. Each branch of the military has its mission and is trained to complete their task. Part of that training is teamwork. As a US soldier, I recall assisting Marines in repairing their combat equipment. Air Force bases were often protected by Soldiers and Marines as they were trained in ground warfare. A Navy base usually has a Marine unit to secure the base. Most Soldiers and Marines get along very well, one Marine when asked why stated "We eat the same dirt!"
In terms of advantages the Army has over the Marines, it's a far larger force with traditionally more up-to-date equipment (although the Marines have gotten better about this), and includes some niche role units, including the ability to deploy an entire division anywhere in the world within 18 hours (although this requires Air Force aircraft).
Join the Navy and see the world.
Marines
The marines wing of the military has better opportunities and responsibilities as compared to the army.
hell no the army is fine but the soldiers in the army compare nothing to the best out their the marines no matter what the mos is.
no
Individual Marines, or the Corps as a whole? The Marine Corps is extremely stingy with its medals. Things that in the Army will get you an Army Commendation Medal won't get you any medals at all in the Marines. The Marines also don't have a lot of the service ribbons the Army has.
The Marines are Marines. The Army has Army Special Forces AKA Green Berets.
Police they are better trained, also the swat team is more trained than marines!
Yes... and the Air Force, and in the Marines, as well.
It's harder to join the Marines. They have much higher standards than the Army.
They're the same throughout all branches of the military.
The Russian Spetznaz are a special forces group comparable to the Army Rangers. It would be expected that the Spetznaz would perform better in what is asked of them than the US Marines.
all branches follow the same pay scale, so an E1 or Private in the army makes the same as an E1 in the Marines. supposedly the army will promote people faster than the Marines but it comes down to how hard you're willing to work at your job.
