After receiving news that Juliet is dead, (which she isn't) he bought a small bottle of poison and decides to drink it if Juliet really is dead. He arrived at Juliet's tomb, thinks she's dead, drinks the poison and dies, Juliet wakes, finds him dead and stabs herself with Romeo's dagger.
