Rosalind Franklin did the measurements using X-Rays that allowed James Watson and Franicis Crick to decipher the structure of DNA. Dr. Franklin probably would have shared the Noble Prize with Watson, Crick and Maurice Wilkins but she died before the prize was awarded but the Noble prize is not awarded posthumously. Without Franklin's work Watson and Crick would not have made their discovery.
