Why is accelaration slow on a Range Rover DSE 2.5?

with my 98 dse i have to floor it and then it gets off from the gate like a little hatchback I think its a turbo thing for the weight of the beast is too great to gain any momentum with ordinary foot peddle'ing, just driving and you need a burst then you have to put the pedle right to the floor until you feel it grab all that it has. works on my one .Sean in dublin. 98 RR 2.5 DSE. 109,000 miles.

pop the hood, if it has a diesel under there then that's probably your problem. all a diesel engine is is a brick unless your packing a serious turbo, exhaust or air intake.
