only to a certain point, age isn't the most important thing out there. your love for each other is what should come first regardless of age. love has no limit and you cant assign a number to how closely aged people in love should be. when girls (or guys) are young, their judgment can be immature and they might believe that they love someone older. the main thing is to be able to discern love from lust.

∙ 13y agoYes, people generally gain experience and insight as they age, but become less flexible. You will notice a difference in a relationship if there is a large age gap, BUT that doesn't mean it wont work. As long as you expect different challenges you will be fine. :)

∙ 13y agoAge brings maturity and life experience. If the age difference is too big then the two in the relationship will be on completely different maturity levels.
The world today also changes much more rapidly than it did 50-100 years ago. In those days people could be born even 20 years apart and still belong to the same "mental" generation. Today people with an age gap of only 5 years can feel as if they were born in different generations.
