Why is answers com horrible?

Soon this question will be recategorized so that it gets an established site response, but I am hoping that you get this more personal answer before that happens.

Please extend a little kindness to us. It's frustrating when you want an answer and can't find it, but did you know that WikiAnswers is made mostly of people just like you? Questions are answered by people who come to the site from anywhere in the world. Anyone coming here can edit questions and answers freely, even questions and answers that they did not submit. There are no special rules about who must answer what. It is just an enjoyable site to ask questions, get some useful information or at least some useful leads, and have some fun editing.

So, WikiAnswers isn't horrible at all. When you think about it, anything can be considered horrible if you expect it to do something it cannot do. Adjusting expectations can go a long way toward making your experience here more enjoyable and more useful to you.

Try Answers.com (click on Answers.com, above) for answers that are not editable, and you may find what you want there. Also, these sites can be considered just some of the tools you have at your disposal for getting information. On occasion, you may find that the only site with exactly what you need will be WikiAnswers. In the meantime, please realize that while there are literally millions of WikiAnswers members, there is no guarantee that everyone will get timely and accurate information, all the time.
