Area 51 is called area 51 because the Nellis AFB and range complex is made up of grids from 1-125 and the grid that is #51 is the place that it is believed to be the place where the Goverment is hiding a UFO but in fact it has never been proven that is what is there but it makes good folklore.

best kept secret for more than 70 years. Because of the theories floating around the USA Area 51 has been snuck
into or tried to be snuck
into by countless people. Although all of the rumors have been proven wrong numerous times people like the idea of aliens and UFO's. The military established the security for Area 51 before the break-ins but after them they created an elite team to arrest and/or kill people who have tried to sneak in.
