It's not a chemical change because the only the temperature and phase changes. The properties may be altered somewhat, but it the same chemical compound.

No atomic bonds are broken or formed, there are no new substances formed, and none of the signs that indicate a chemical change are present. Some of the water is changing from a liquid to a gaseous state, and can be returned to a liquid state, unchanged, by cooling it.

When boiling water you are just chaning the phase of the water from liquid to gas (physical change), in order for a chemical reaction to occur a chemical change must occur.

Evaporation is a phase change and can be reversed by sufficient cooling. The chemical identity of the substance does not change.

Is a boiling point a chemical or physical property?

Boiling point is a physical property. This is because when an element boils, it changes its state of matter, which is a physical change.

What are physical changes of antifreeze when dissolved in water?

will change the boiling and freezing point of the water

How can you tell that the melting of ice cube is a physical change?

You could test the resulting liquid by determining its boiling point and melting point. If they are the same as the boiling and melting points for water, then it is probably water and a physical change rather than a chemical change has occurred.

Is production of steam a chemical or physical change?

The change from liquid water to steam is a physical change in the state of matter. Evaporation is the term for a liquid becoming a gas.

Is boiling water on a stove chemical or physical change?

This involves a change of state of the water. Before, during, and after the boiling, it remains water. So, since the substance doesn't change its character, the boiling of water is a physical change.

It chances the boiling point of the water, and it changes the freezing point of the water

Is water is heated and changed to steam is it a physical or chemical change?

The changing of water to steam is a physical change because it is still water, but only in a different state. The steam can change back into water which is a reversible change. Chemicals changes cannot change back. They are permanent.
