Explain why complete combustion is desirable?

The advantages of a complete combustion reaction are that they don't release as harmful toxic pollutants. In an incomplete combustion Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and carbon is released. A complete combustion only releases carbon dioxide.

Is it combustion is energy?

Grammatical quibbles aside, no, combustion is not energy. Combustion may produce (or release) energy, but the two are not identical.

Why is it better to burn fuels in a good supply of oxygen?

If you have a good supply of oxygen you get a more complete burn, which means you get more energy out of the fuel and there are fewer products of incomplete combustion, which are often toxic

What is the downside of the products formed by complete combustion reactions on which we rely for energy and transportation?

The products of combustion are water and carbon dioxide.

What is true about most combustion reactions?

They release energy (they are exothermic).

Does burning magnesium release energy?

ofcourse. release of energy(in the form of light and heat ) is always involved with combustion

Can rapid combustion be defined as explosion?

Yes. An explosion is a sudden release of energy, like rapid combustion.

Where does this energy come from once the hydrocarbons release a lot of energy when ignited?

This is the heat of combustion.

Combustion as a source of energy can lead to formation of air pollutants like CO and NO and how can each of these pollutants form from the combustion of fuel?

There is carbon and nitrogen in fuel. Burning it with oxygen (incomplete) produces CO and NO.

Does the Bunsen burner absorb energy as heat?

The Bunsen burner release energy as heat of combustion.

Does oxygen produce energy under combustion?

Oxygen can react with other elements and release energy.

What does a combustion reaction release?

energy, carbon dioxide, and dihydrogen oxide
