Why is donny osmond popular - it just seems like he shows up on entertainment shows a lot but I've never known him for actually DOING anything?

He's a performer (Andy Williams show in the 1960s), singer (since 1971), co-hosted a very popular variety show in the 1970s, an actor, a talk show host, and that's just the top of the iceberg.
He's currently performing at the Flamingo Hotel in Vegas with his sister, Marie. One of the hottest show in Vegas right now. He loves and respects his fans and will be celebrating his 50th year in show business in 2012.
Not to mention, his best quality of all, not only is he an overall nice guy who loves and respects his fans and shows it but he's a loving husband and father, and, now, grandfather!
