Electrical cables are made from copper because it is a better conductor than aluminium, it is also cheaper. If you did use aluminium then;
- it may set fire.
- may oxidize after a while and over heat.

- aluminum which is less expensive than copper and an equally good conductor but has a nonconductive oxide that could result in bad connections and start a fire
- iron is much less expensive than copper but is only a fair conductor, so there would be more power loss in the wiring
- etc.
Copper is an excellent conductor, not too expensive, and has a conductive oxide ensuring good connections.
