It is well established that global warming is the most pressing long term threat to our species. There are about a hundred million people living in Bangladesh, a large portion of whom may end up as climate refugees, as well as millions more on Pacific Islands like Malaysia. Although the frequency of the most severe storms is not likely to increase, their power and subsequent damage will. Although some areas are expected to receive more rain fall, other areas will suffer drought, and become desert. The resulting economic hardships will be huge.

The climate is always changing, and we must adapt. The thing is, in this instance we are the ones largely driving the change. There is nothing we can do to stop what we have started--atmospheric CO2 has enormous inertia. But we can slow it down, and take steps to mitigate the effects. We are currently at 393 ppm CO2, and will exceed 400 ppm by 2015. 450 in 2032, and 500 ppm before 2050. 350 ppm is considered the maximum sustainable level.

Global warming is not a danger to the planet. The earth can manage temperature much hotter than this.

But human and animal life on the planet can not. This is where global warming is a danger.

The available land mass will shrink because of coastal flooding. 85% of the population live near the coast line. Warming seas expand, and because the Antarctic polar cap is a continental glacier the melting ice will further raise sea levels. Storms will become more severe as the water temperature rises. Heat waves and droughts will be more prevalent. The glaciers that feed the great rivers of Europe and Asia are disappearing. Millions of people depend on that water.
heats up the earth and we may not be able to grow crops ect. Sometimes global warming can even cause alteration in genes that can cause Cancers is because of the penetration of the UV A & UV B rays of the sun into the skin .
Yes. Even a slight rise in temperature can make our climate destabilize, causing unimaginable disaster and destruction. For more information on how global warming works, how it can affect things, and how such a relatively tiny amount of CO2 in our atmosphere can cause so much trouble, I recommend watching Wonderingmind42's videos on YouTube.
Melt ice and have inundation.

Global warming is when the earth heats up. global warming is causing damage to us and the environment. global warming is affecting many parts of the world. many people, animals, and plants cannot take the change so they die. global warming is critical to animals and is already being felt on plant and animals worldwide. global warming effects may kill off hibernating animals, although animals are in search of a cooler climate they wont find one because global warming is worldwide. global warming is adding to pollution and destroying our ecosystem. Global warming is causing the ozone layer to dissolve. so now that you have read this i hope it was helpful... what are you going to do now to stop global warming? you can help by: using less electricity, compost, recycle, and throw away your trash!! (don't litter). just try to help and you will be helping. :)

In a lot of ways:

  • rising sea level and losing the coastline,
  • with intensely populated cities.
  • Changing ecosystems,
  • changing agriculture,
  • losing crops because of drought,
  • more extreme weather (hurricanes, tornadoes, etc),
  • heat waves .
  • And this is just the tip of the iceberg (except there won't be any more icebergs).

Global Warming is a threat because if the world warms by just two or three degrees the consequences will be dreadful.

Already there have been changes in the weather:

  • heavier rain than usual in many places
  • increases in the intensity and duration of tropical storms and cyclones
  • more recent heat waves
  • increase in lands suffering drought
  • sea levels rising

Already there have been Glacier retreat and disappearance

  • mountain glaciers and snow cover have decreased in both northern and southern hemispheres
  • some of the sea level rise is attributable to this

Already there have been changes in the Oceans:

  • Increased levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air has caused the oceans to become more acidic
  • as the oceans warm they become less able to absorb CO2
  • as the oceans warm the water expands, causing some sea level rise

Many scientist think it's too late to stop 2 degrees warming. We have to try to stop it getting worse.
climate change, stronger storms, sea level rise
