This is incorrect. Global warming is happening all around the world. The effects are more noticeable in warmer countries like Africa and Australia, as well as, surprisingly, the Arctic.

Why does the heat equator move farther into the Northern Hemisphere in July than it moves into the Southern Hemisphere in January?

There is more land surface in the Northern Hemisphere and land has a lower specific heat than water therefore warming faster than the vast oceans of the Southern Hemisphere.

Why is Canada an ideal location to study the effects of global warming?

Its near the pole(s), where change is happening faster.

How are tropical storms in the northern hemisphere different from the southern hemisphere?

In the northern hemisphere over 99 percent of the tornadoes spin counterclockwise but in the southern hemisphere 99 percent of tornadoes spin clockwise.

How do rates of warming and cooling of land surfaces compare to the rates of warming and cooling of ocean?

Land surfaces warm faster and cool faster

Is geothermal good for the earth?

NO! Taking the heat from the Earth is helping the sub surface cool at a faster rate. You might be thinking well then how is global warming happening? The atmosphere is warming up but the sub surface is cooling. We are finding more and more ways to help drive the earth to its grave.

What is the elapsed time in days from the first day of summer to the first day of winter?

From 1900 to 2150, the average length of time per year from the beginning of the northern hemisphere summer to the beginning of the northern hemisphere winter is 183.52 days, and the average length of time per year from the beginning of the southern hemisphere summer to the beginning of the southern hemisphere winter is 181.72 days. The reason that northern hemisphere summers are longer than southern hemisphere summers is that Earth is closest to the sun, at its perihelion, in January, and it's farthest from the sun, at its aphelion, in July, and orbiting bodies always travel faster when they're closer to the body they're orbiting.

Does global warming happen faster in any part of the world?

It happens faster where there are holes in the ozone layer.

Where are the biggest effects of global warming going to occur?

The biggest effects of global warming are expected to occur in regions near the poles, including the Arctic and Antarctic. These areas are experiencing a faster rate of warming compared to the rest of the planet, leading to the melting of glaciers and ice sheets, rising sea levels, and changes in ecosystems. Additionally, regions with already warm climates, such as tropical and subtropical areas, may face increased risks of extreme weather events, including hurricanes and heatwaves.

What best describes the current trend of Earth's warming?

It is warming more and very much faster than previous natural cycles

If a cyclone or hurricane begins in the southern hemisphere and moves to the northern hemisphere does the Coriolis Effect cause the cyclone to switch the direction that it is spinning?

The Coriolis effect actually stops any hurricane or cyclone from crossing the equator. It's like a "Coriolis barrier", if you will. Hurricanes and typhoons are essentially "heat transfer" effects and almost continuously move AWAY from the equator, to the north or south.

What are three ways to dissolve solids faster?

Why summer lasts two days longer?

Earth's orbit around the Sun is not a perfect circle; rather, it is an elipse. In winter (the northern winter; in the southern hemisphere this would be the summer), Earth is closer to the Sun, and moves faster.
