Yes,There clearly is salt in the water.I mean a few hundred miles you will reach the Atlantic ocean.Yes,I have experienced the saltiness in there water.It it quite hard to see,until a small wave rushs towards your legs.It is bitter and harsh on your skin,But it is still worth a nice swim in the gulf.Possibly,If you reach deep waters,which isn't a great idea,more salt will come towards the denser side.
