Murder is illegal because, "the loss of a human being inflicts enormous grief upon the individuals close to the victim, and the commission of a murder is highly detrimental to the good order within society." Whatever that means...

Think about how the world would be if we could kill people. Liberals would be dead, communists would be dead, terrorists would be dead, wet-backs would be dead, rude people would be dead, weak people would be dead, corrupt politicians would be dead, ignorant people would be dead. Imagine that. Life would be without BS. Everyone wants BS in their life, right? Nobody wants the world to be a better place, that's why it's illegal to kill people.

Firstly, if you look at morals, a human being who wasn't a sociopath (someone who feels no guilt), wouldn't be able to happily kill someone. Besides, if you had a gun to my head, do you think you could really pull the trigger? Ending someone's life?
Looking back into biblographical times, (The Bible ages), it is a sin to kill someone, and alot of the old laws, are based on sins. IE - Murder, Adultry & Stealing.
Moreover, it is a crime because people have deemed it to be illegal.

If you are having murderous thoughts, please confide in someone, please.

Because we make laws to protect society. If everyone could kill anyone they wanted to kill, society would break down quickly. Most people also place value on life, and so they seek to preserve it rather than destroy it.
