Why is my 2000 grand am radio light not on?
Mine has gone out as well. GM is not known for their electronics... I have done some research on the subject and I found out that there is a little light bulb behind the display. Apparently you have to take out your stereo, dig around and find the bulb, then replace it. Depending on your technical prowess you may just want to replace the head unit itself. I've found some for around $80 online or you can upgrade to a new head unit from Best Buy for not too much more. I won't look stock but meh... You can get replacement bulbs that size (it's tiny) from Radio Shack. Don't know the size or wattage or whatnot but most of the employees there are well-trained and can at least help you look. Hope this helps!
1999 grand am cut the wires you put the factory radio back in all the dash light radio light wont work?
2002 Grand Prix SE how do you install an after market radio I have been told that it may contain a CPU that will control other things?
On my wife's 2000 grand prix - the radio also functions as part of the 'oil change indicator' system. You do some sequence with the radio buttons - and the indicator resets. I dont think you can add an aftermarket radio -- but I did add an ipod adapter and a CD changer in the trunk. (It was pre-wired for it)
