Probably a dead battery.
Dodge ram van dies after starting
check all vacuum lines for leaks
There's possibly several things going on. Change the sparkplugs, clean the carburetor with some carb cleaner. You'll have to take off the airfilter. Try starting the car. If it will not start pour high octane fuel into the carburetor. This will bypass the fuel pump. If it starts smooth you'll need to replace the fuel pump.
This question needs more info. Does it sputter like it is running out of fuel, or just die like it lost spark to fire the plugs? How long does it run? Does it die as soon as the key is released from the start position?
the engine will turn over but sometimes wont start. it also sometimes dies while its idling. whats going on
car dies when running then hard to start ,if it will start
yes
I have a 05 700 r raptor that doesn't start because the light is on for the temp light some times when it starts it runs for 20-30 min then dies ( the light comes on wright before it dies) doesn't start until the light goes off ?????
Assuming your car has an automatic transmission, it could be the TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) solenoid.
Probably the alternator is bad. Once the jumper cables are removed, there is no source for ignition if the alternator is bad. Have it tested and replaced if necessary.
AFTER ENGINE DIES, TRY TO SEE IF YOU ARE GETTING SPARK TO A SINGLE PLUG. IF NOT THEN IGNITION CONTROL MODULE IS BAD. MODULE IS LOCATED ON BOTTOM LEFT SIDE OF DISRIBUTOR FRONT OF ENGINE. JUST HAD THIS PROBLEM. First, find out what is failing. After it dies, check to see if you can re-start it with ether. spray a little starting fluid down the throttle body while an assistant attempts to start the engine. If it starts then dies again while spraying starting fluid, you have a problem with the fuel delivery. If not, it's a problem with the ignition. Figure out that part then let's see where it goes from there.
no the car wont start because the battery is dead, it was discharged by running it and not being recarged by the alt
