Some jobs are potentially dangerous if they are not done correctly and with the necessary precautions, either in terms of protective equipment, training, safe work procedures, supervision, and so forth. Many people get injured or killed by industrial accidents, and it is clearly better, both for workers and for society in general, if people are able to do their jobs without getting injured or killed.

OSHA laws are enforced at the work place but they are not always enforced by OSHA directly. Usually, OSHA regulations can only be randomly enforced, so if there is an issue at a workplace it is often best that the employee report any problems to OSHA, and they will handle it from there, without giving out your information.
