The coolant level sensor is either malfunctioning or unplugged. It's either at the bottom of the overflow tank or on the side of the radiator. Fix the problem and the light will take care of itself.There is a float inside coolant tank. These tend to stick. If looking at coolant reservoir tank towards front you will see two wires running to it. Tap right above those wires and the float may float and turn off the light. You have to be loosing fluid for the need to add more. Two common problems are head gasket and heater core leaking.
You should check your fluid levels, your oil and coolant.
Low coolant?Bad sensor?
Bad sensor? == ==
The coolant in a 1998 model has dex cool antifreeze. It is red in color and not green. It is suppose to be good for 5 years or 150000 miles.
change your thermostat.
Check your overflow bottle to make sure there is adequate coolant in there. If there is, the coolant level sensor is faulty and must be replaced.
Either coolant is low or the sensor in the reservoir is stuck with dirt. Clean the reservoir with soap and water
unleaded...besides that don't waste your money on premium gas, the car's not worth it.
you can't reset it, fill your coolant up full, both rad and overflow. the light will go out. if it is still on when everything is full, then your coolant sensor is broken or unplugged. if you light goes off then comes on again and your coolant is low, then you have a leak. if you have a 3400 engine in your lumina common leaks are intake gaskets, waterpumps, and head gaskets.
Probably a radiator leak or a split radiator hose.Check coolant levels in the radiator.
it sounds like your primary coolant fan has quit and when you turn your A/C on it causes your secondary coolant fan to turn on and then cools the coolant in your radiator!
use a vortex coolant
