Why is platinum worth more than gold?

You cannot really compare the two, as they are two very different metals. However, the biggest difference would be the price as platinum is more expensive than gold and it is more durable and dense. When a ring is being made, in the case of platinum 85% – 95% is used, whereas with gold about 75% is used, depending on the karat.

Platinum is more precious than Gold or Silver. Platinum possesses high resistance to chemical attack, excellent high-temperature characteristics, and stable electrical properties. All of these properties have been exploited for industrial applications.
Or a Quick Explanation it is just harder to get and it is used in alot of things thus making it needed alot more which than makes it more expensive.
