The Dead Sea is salty because it has no outlets. Any minerals which flow into it stay there. All bodies of fresh water have outlets which allow them to dispose of dissolved minerals which flow into them from their sources. Oceans and seas typically have no outlets (although there are exceptions; the Mediterranean Sea is saltier than the Atlantic Ocean, and loses mineral-laden water by a deep outflow layer).
There are three factors which contribute to the salinity of the Daed Sea. First, the Dead Sea was formed by a rift in two tectonic plates. The spreading of the two plates created a low spot, which is still sinking, near several rivers. Then, it is land locked, and several rivers lead to the Dead Sea, but no rivers carry water away from the Dead Sea. Finally, the Dead Sea is located in a very hot climate. So, a very sunken body of water is continually being fed more salt water from rivers where the hot temperatures evaporate the water leaving the salt minerals behind.
the dead sea is below sea level and so can't drain into the sea. salt is dissolved into the river Jordan which empties into the dead sea. because it is in a desert there isn't enough water to fill it up and flush it into the sea so the salt accumulates. if there was adequate water fall the region (large parts of Israel and Jordan) would be a massive fresh water lake but the desert doesn't allow this to happen.

Sea water is salty because rivers have washed salts and minerals from the earth into the sea for millions of years. When water evaporates from the sea to form clouds and provide rain, that water is perfectly fresh, but every time it runs back into the sea it brings a little more salt and minerals with it.

The Dead Sea is the saltiest in the world because it is a small sea with no outlet to a larger one. The River Jordan and the River Arnon run into it. Neither of these rivers are very big, but the hot dry weather around the Dead Sea evaporates water quickly, leaving the salt behind.

The dead sea is realy salty because, it is like a puddle its just there it has no sources just the rain. There are on streams, rivers, or lakes flowing out or into it. There water just sits there so therefore the salt cannot flow out. So the same salt has been there for Thousands of years and it doesent go any where. Also did you know that this sea is so salty even rocks that weigh a ton can float. It is because the dead sea used to be bigger than what it is now ,the water has evaporated because salt doesn't evaporate, which has left the remaining sea water more concentrated with salt.

It is not just considered the saltiest sea in the world; it is the saltiest sea in the world. The Dead Sea has the highest concentration of salt per cubic foot of water than any other saltwater sea in the world.

The Dead Sea is 400 metres below sea level and is fed by the river Jordan, but has no outlet to create a flow to reduce concentration.

And it's not the saltiest. Lake Vanda, Lake Assal, Garabogazkol and Don Juan Pond are saltier.
