Sedimentary rock provides evidence of the history of rock. But how? It's very simple. There are different layers of earth piled on top of each other. They may contain fossils or other organic materails. Scientists study the layers of the Earth and do that by looking at the soil and rock. The type of sediment in different layers will, of course, be different. Therefore, scientists can figure out about the type of year or years that the occupants of the Earth had.
Over time, layers of sediment settle on top of other layers, creating a strata or collection of layers, the oldest layers at the bottom and the newest at the top. By studying the materials and structure in each layer, scientists can determine a little of what was going on at the time a layer was being formed (similar to how the rings on a tree show how it lived when the ring of bark was formed). Layers that contain certain types of minerals may indicate how much water was being transported, what gases were present in the air, or whether any volcanoes were adding ash to the environment. Dead organisms trapped in sediments are sometimes represented as fossils, leaving impressions in the stone.
eras and then smaller periods based on geologic and biologic events that occurred during those times
it shows earths history by how deep it was in the earth and with how compressed it is
It is used to write on and keep tabs on.
The evidence for evolution that uses impressions of plants and animals into sedimentary rock is the study of fossils. The study of fossils and where they are found is a determining factor about what was going on in a period of history.
4.6 billion years
The study of the earth's interior is important for man to understand his environment. It also helps to predict events that may occur on the earth's surface.
Hydrology or Oceanography (?)
The study of Earth's surface landforms is known as geomorphology.
What are two ways that's scientists can study earths climates history
Astronomy This is the study of the earth and physical structure and history
Historical geology.

Petrarch say that it was important to study history because It would affect education for many years.
We can learn from the mistakes people had made in the past. So it is very important to study history.
