Latent heat is an important form of atmospheric energy. Latent heat is a property of water vapor in the atmosphere and when water vapor condenses it releases latent heat. Latent heat must be supplied to evaporate liquid water and this heat affects the behavior of the weather.

latent heat is heat used or released in changing state. important because it is why sweating cools us. the latent heat of the evaporation cools our skin as the sweat evaporates

What is the heat stored in the atmosphere as a result of evaporation?

Latent

How latent heat is an important source of atmospheric energy?

In the atmosphere latent heat is a property of water vapour. When water vapour condenses it releases latent heat, and latent heat must be supplied to evaporate liquid water. This heat affects the behaviour of the weather. Similar effects occur in the change from liquid water to ice and vice versa.

What is heat called that is stored in the atmosphere as a result of evaporation?

the answer is latent Latent heat is correct, but specifically the latent heat of evaporation of (whatever is evaporated, in this case water) water. When the evaporated water condenses, it releases this latent heat as it precipitates, which is why it tends to feel warmer during rainstorms (unless the water is running down your neck in which case it feels horrible).

Can latent heat be zero?

No, latent heat can never be zero.Because latent heat is the hidden heat so there has to be heat more than zero.

6 different heat transfers?

# Coduction # Radiation # Convention # Latent heat # Heat pipes # I learned that convection currents transfer heat throughout the troposphere. (part of the atmosphere)

Heat that causes a substance to change form is called?

latent heat :)

When trees transpire releasing gaseous water into the atmosphere they can absorb heat from their environment and cool it down. What property of water is responsible for this activity?

Latent heat of vaporization.

Why is latent heat of vapourisation higher than latent heat of fusion?

latent heat of vapourisation is the heat energy required to change 1 kg of a liquid to gas at atmospheric pressure at its boiling point where latent heat of fusion is the amount of heat energy required to change 1 kg of solid to liquid at its melting point so that is why latent heat of vapourisation higher than latent heat of fusion.

What is the heat that is released when water condenses and changes to liquid form?

The latent heat of vaporisation.

Latent Heat.

What is latent heat evaporation?
