Answer if you want to call it that, lolwell, I'm not going to pretend to be a hero, but the only thing that came to mind was an example. if you had on a silk dress (if you wore one) ther's a certain amount of static there, but if you were to wet the dress then the space between the dress and the static from your body would disappear. so if it's ranning the space where the electricity would live is no longer able to thrive. i guess, or something like that.

Water molecules allows some electricity to constantly discharge.

Only little humidity and the static electricity can grow to a quite high voltage.

A lot of humidity will counteract this. As voltage increases, more will be dissipated by the moisture.

Static electricity demonstrations work best on dry warm days is because of friction which is what causes static. A warm dry day prevents moisture in the air from naturally reducing friction.

Because electroststics is the study of extremely high impedance electrical phenomena, and damp air conducts electricity, effectively short circuiting the experiment.

That's true, it happens because humid air is electrically conductive. For electrostatic experiments you need really good insulation, for instance, dry air or no air at all.

moist air is more conductive and this results in higher leakage currents, thus having higher influence on experiement

Damp air is much better at dissipating the charge we try to build up on objects. This is because the water molecules can carry away the excess charges.
