∙ 12y agoThe reason why deserts are hot in the day is because the desert is very close to the equator and the sun is very high in the sky during the day.
Not all deserts are hot. The driest continent on earth is Antarctica. That's about as far from the equator that one can get and it is far from hot there. Then we have the Gobi and the Great Basin Deserts that are far from the equator. There are many factors that come into play besides the equator, most of it based on geography.
