Engine that was operated with a loose , missing or bad fuel cap.
The 2008 Chevrolet Malibu runs on regular unleaded.
Is the check engine light "ON" and if so have you had it diagnosed? Did you replace the fuel filter when you replaced the pump?
Could be a plugged fuel filter or damaged/plugged catalytic converter. If the check engine light is or has illuminated check for codes.
Either the gas cap is loose or you have another large vapor leak from the fuel tank.
Bad fuel sending unit, or a faulty circuit to the fuel sending unit.
check your fuel pressure.
no, there is not a fuse inside the fuel pump - check to make sure you have 12 volts to fuel pump for first 3 seconds when key is on position- also check ground to fuel pump if both of these are good and you have no or little fuel pump pressure check fuel filter or replace it- if no or little fuel after replacing fuel filter then replace fuel pump also don't forget to check fuel pressure regulator (although this is a rare problem among Chevy Malibu's)
check fuel filter, sounds like your not getting fuel,
the low coolant light is only for radiater coolant, does not have anything to do with fuel pump!!
Disconnect fuel line from pump and start car...if it spits gas out, its working,if no fuel spits out, chances are fuel pump is not pumping fuel.
check wiring to injecters, sounds like a short.
the gas cover just needs to be pushed and then it opens... There is no button
