Yes. A day (rotation around its axis) on venus 240- something [earth] days. (I think its 243.) a year (rotation around the sun) on venus is only 225 earth days. a day on venus is longer than a year.

Yes and no. It depends on which "day" you mean.

Venus rotates very slowly on its axis. A "sidereal day" (rotation period) is about 243 Earth days.

There's also the "solar day". That depends on the apparent movement of the Sun around the sky. The orbital motion of Venus around the Sun combines with the rotation of Venus to give a solar day length of about 117 Earth days.

A "year" on Venus is about 225 Earth days. That's the time to orbit the Sun.

That means the sidereal day is longer than the year, but the solar day is shorter than the year.

A day on Mars is about 24 Earth hours and 39.6 Earth minutes. So the day lengths on Mars and Earth are just about the same.

Strictly speaking, that's the length of the "solar day". That's about a couple of minutes longer than the rotation period (called a "sidereal day").

The "sidereal day" on Venus (its rotation period) is longer than its year.

Venus takes 243 days to spin on its axis relative to the background stars, while it takes 224.7 days to orbit the sun. Although its spin on its axis is longer that its orbital period, an apparent (solar) day is 116.75 days, since it spins in the opposite direction from Earth and most other planets.

Yes it is longer. There are 2 main definitions, but either way the Venus day is a lot longer than an Earth Day.

A day is shorter on Uranus as it spins more quickly on its axis (in 17 hours 14 minutes and 24 seconds, compared with about 24 hours on Earth).

Slightly longer. A (solar) day on Mars would be about24 hours 39.6 minutes, comparedwith Earth's solar day of24 hours.

Do any planets have longer days or years?

No two planets in our solar system have the same length of day or length of year. Compared with Earth, these planets have longer years: Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. These have much longer days than Earth: Mercury and Venus. Mars has a day that's slightly longer than Earth's day. Depending on the particular definition of "day" that is used, two planets have a day that's longer than than that planet's year. They are Mercury (solar day) and Venus (sidereal day).

How long does a year lasts on Mars?

A day on Mars (the time it takes to rotate on its axis) is 24.62 hours, just slightly longer than a day on Earth.A year on Mars (the time it takes to go around the Sun) is 686.97 days, almost 2 of our Earth years.for more information, See other related questions, e.g. how long is a day on mars?=]

A day on Mars is slightly longer, about 24.62 Earth hours (24 hours, 37 minutes).

Day length on mars?

A day on Mars is not much longer at all than on Earth. It takes 24 hours and 40 minutes for a day to pass on Mars.

Is the time on mars different then the time on earth?

If you mean unit of time, then yes. A second on Earth is the same as a second on Mars, as is a minute, or an hour. Mars' length of day, however is slightly longer than an average Earth day because it rotates slightly slower than the Earth. A Martian year is also longer than a year on Earth because its orbit around the Sun is longer. One orbit around the Sun for Mars takes a little less than two Earth years.

What planet has longer days and years and is rocky?

Mars has a longer year than Earth (about twice as long) and its day is 24 hours and 38 minutes long.

Why is a day on the mars about 37 minutes longer than a day on the earth?

Its to do with the time taken for the planet to rotate once on it axis, Mars just takes a little longer, making its apparent day longer.

What planets days are longer than your year?

Venus "sidereal day" is longer than its year. Mercury's "solar day" is longer than its year. However, there is no planet in our solar system with a day longer than our year on Earth.

What is the earth days for mars to rotate?

A Martian day is only 40 minutes longer than an Earth day, but its year is almost twice as long as ours.
