earth is the perfect distance from the sun so that life can evolve because, if earth were to close to the sun the earth would be to hot to contain any humans or animals and if the earth were to far from the sun it would be to cold to contain any humans at all,

Is earth an astronomical unit away from the sun?

An astronomical unit is the average distance from Earth to the sun, so on average, the Earth is one astronomical unit away from the sun. The earth's orbit around the sun is not a perfect circle, so Earth is not always the exact same distance from the sun. The Earth is usually a little farther or a little closer to the sun, depending on where Earth is in its orbit.

The distance travel by Earth arounrd the Sun in an year?

The earth's path around the sun is not a perfect circle. But it's close, and in order to answerthis question, we'll assume that it is.The earth's average distance from the sun ... the radius of the "circle" ... is 93 million miles. The distance traveled by earth around the sun in a year ... the circumference of the circle ... is(2 pi) times (radius) = 584.3 million miles(rounded)

Is the distance from earth to sun larger or from earth to moon?

The distance from the center of the earth to the center of the moon is about 238,837 miles. That distance varies somewhat, because the moon doesn't follow a perfect circular orbit; instead it has an elliptical orbit. At the closest point, the moon is 225,622 miles from the earth; while at its farthest, is 252,088 miles. The sun is about 92,955,820.5 miles from the earth. At that distance, it takes about 8 1/2 minutes for light from the sun to reach the earth!

How hot would the earth get if it moved 1 inch closer to the sun?

That is very untrue. The earth orbit the sun an an ellipse. That means it is not a perfect circle. The distance from the earth to the sun changes every day and I'll bet it's more than and inch difference.
