Thomas Crapper was not the inventor of the flush toilet - this is a misconception. However, he did invent the ball cock that is used in the cistern, and lodged a patent for it along with many other patents for other inventions - but the flush toilet was not among them! There has been many people listed as inventing the flush toliet such as Thomas Crapper, J.F. Brondel ,and Joseph Bramah.
I don't know but what I do know is that Thomas Crapper invented the hand-flush toilet.
Holder of 9 plumbing-related patents and often wrongly credited as the inventor of the flush toilet, prolific plumber Thomas Crapper had one son, John Green Crapper, who sadly died at age 1 in 1869. Thomas and his wife had no other children.
