Because C is the first note of the first scale in piano. A is the beginning of the alphabet, while C is the starting note on piano. On some pianos, A is the first note in the bass, making it the first note.
Not all pianos do...
It is traditional, though, because that was the way the inventor created it.
every note after it is traditionally tuned to an A...like in an orchestra
The answer to this is that C is the home key on a piano's keyboard. If it is a computers keyboard the answer is that both F and J are the home keys on a keyboard. if you have more questions about a piano or a keyboard piano go to About.com.piano/ then press enter. Glad I could help!
The G flat key is the black key left to G and right to F on the keyboard.
A piano keyboard has keys, and a door needs a key to be locked and opened so a piano and door are alike because both have/need keys.
When you press a key on the keyboard (of a piano), this enables a little hammer inside to strike on a string that produces the correct note.

the piano key
A piano and an 88 key keyboard are quite similar. They both have 88 keys. The main difference is size. The 88 key keyboard is small and portable. Most keyboards can sound pretty close to a piano but they can't quite achieve the true tone quality of a piano.

Piano and Keyboard
A piano has a keyboard. But is doesn't look like the keyboard on your computer.
On a piano keyboard, C is the white key immediately below (to the left of) any group of two black keys. The rest of the white keys proceed in alphabetical order, starting with A (two white notes to the left of C), and ending with G, after which they start again with A. Visually, using a vertical bar (|) to represent a black key, it would look like this: . . . C | D | E F | G | A | B C | D | E . . . On a full-sized piano keyboard, the lowest key is A and the highest key is C, but this may not be the case on an electronic keyboard.
