Why is the lettering red on a browning A-500R shotgun I didn't know browning had nothing but black lettering?
the gas operated A 500 G lettering is gold. Is G for gas? then maybe red is for R is for recoil, which is how the A 500 R operates
This shotgun was manufactured from 1990-1993 in Belgium and assembled in Portgual, "g" stood for gas operated and there was another model called the a500r. The "r" meaning recoil operated. The receiver looked similar to the a-5 model, just not so square. These guns were replaced with the Browning Gold series.
This switch operates the Magazine cutoff. The cutoff enables the gun to open the chamber and remove the shell to insert a different shell into the chamber, but it is done while the magazine remains loaded. This way, the chamber can be emptied and the extra shells in the magazine will not automatically load. Recommend you use the link below to the Owners Manual for the A500 model. The Magazine Cutoff operations are shown on…
I would like to start first with the serial number. The letters MR in the middle of the serial number indicates that your browning shotgun was made in 2007.With that said,if you have a pump shotgun then you have a browning BPS.If you have a over/under shotgun then you have a browning citori. If you have a semi-auto shotgun then you have a browning gold model.
