The signal assembly switch needs replacing - simple to do - The part runs about $90.00 and is only available in my area at the dealership. I just had this happen to me, the lever attaches to a plastic switch which seems to break on a lot of vehicles.
Bad turn signal flasher.
check and make sure all the lights are on like if a turn signal is out in the front then the signal will stay on in the back when you turn the turn signal on.
Stay in the curb lane right, and have the turn signal flashing. If anyone's walking, they have the right of way whether or not they are jaywalking.

check the multifunction (turn signal) switch
Try checking the right turn signal light bulbs, front and back. Sometimes one of the filaments inside the bulb can break and short out causing the signal not to blink. If you do go this route you might as well change them while you're there.
I would replace the turn signal switch.
I've seen some turn signal dash indicators that stay on without flashing just when a bulb is burnt out. If the signal itself is flashing, and especially if the turn signal arm doesn't automatically retract when you turn, there may be a broken spring in the canceling cam inside the steering column.
Keeping his/her vessel and crew out of danger
One of the signal bulbs on the left side has its ground terminal disconnected. The circuit is completed through the headlights and right turn wiring. Look for the following: - Corroded bulb socket - Loose socket holder (often the ground is made through the metal-to-metal contact) - Damaged wiring Turn on the headlights to find which bulb. That bulb won't light when the signal is turned on.
NO IT WILL NOT.... You MUST stay under the year of 2000 to get the right 1
I suspect that your turn signal switch has a problem inside it. Would have to remove the plastic covers on the steering column and unplug the turn signal switch as a quick diagnos. If your emergency flasher switch is part of the multlifunction switch, then power could be feeding across circuits. the emergency flasher switch has constant battery power.
