A good understanding of anatomy (what's in the body) and physiology (how it works) is the basis of all medicine. Without knowing how the body works, how it is made up and how it can go wrong, we cannot even begin to design effective treatments and interventions, including surgery or new pharmaceutical drugs.

learning anatomy and physiology well means that you know the basicsof medicine.

disease is deviation from the normal, and if you know the normal structure(anatomy) and function(physiology) it is very easy to realize where the problem is coming from.

Even for those whose professions do not include a need for knowledge of the body, study in this area will pay off. People who know how the body works will be able to take good care of their themselves. They will also know when their body is not working as it must, so they will get themselves into the doctor’s office well before a physical problem can be bad. The advantages of studying human anatomy are there for everyone. Even through the doctor tries to use the most basic terms, it can be hard to understand him so learning even basic anatomy will help you follow what she is saying.

Impossible to be surgeon without it, hard to be any kind of a doctor without it.

Also artists, phys-ed instructors, and even fashion designers need some knowledge in that field.
