it is burning rubber
Well I recently found out. I have a 2002 jeep liberty and they will make a grinding noises when you turn the steering wheel. The noise is worse when you turn at slow speeds or while in park. The noise will get worse over time. As the driver you'll know something is seriously starting to go wrong because the sound is loud.
Front grinding could be a bad wheel bearing or in the front axle assembly.
You may have a wheel bearing going bad or a brake dragging. Take it to a mechanic. I have found that if I can't identify something better than a "grinding noise" I had better let a mechanic look at it.
The starter on a Jeep Liberty for most years is on the driver's side of the vehicle. It is about half-way down, adjacent to the driver's side wheel well.
There are many reasons why the Jeep Liberty will make a strange beeping noise. It could be beeping if the turn signals have been left on or if the emergency brake isn't all the way down.
Throw-out bearing................
