Why is there more land on one hemisphere of Earth than on the other?

Scientists now believe that at one point, several billion years

ago, there was only one continent, which we call Pangea. Because of

plate tectonics, which is the movement of the plates making up the

crust of the Earth, that super continent has broken up, and parts

of it are drifting erratically around the Earth. It is purely

chance that so much continental crust is concentrated in one

hemisphere.
