What are some things that are non-biodegradable?
Material that's nonliving (excluding dead organic matter) is non-biodegradable. Plastic, metal, styrofoam, and corrugated cardboard are non-biodegradable, while a dead tree, animal waste, and skin cells are biodegradable. A difference between biodegradable trash and non-biodegradable trash is that the biodegradable can be thrown out into a backyard and eventually turn into soil or something that other living things can reuse, while non-biodegradable trash can be recycled, as in reused for its original purposed, usually for humans.

What do you mean by segregation of waste?
"Segregation" essentially means "Separation", in this context. In technical terms, "Segregation of Waste" is slightly different than "Separation of Waste", in that when a waste system is set up, "Segregation" means that the system always keeps the different waste types separate from the time the waste is created, while "Separation" generally means that waste is combined after production, but later sorted apart (usually, after collection and before disposal). non-biodegradable plastic thrown off in land mines etc. as garbage, stays right there since it is not degraded. it cannot be used for other puposes like biogas production etc. it reduces the porosity of the land where it is present as it is non-absorbing and thus affects the percolation of groundwater. this is very harmful as groundwater depletion is dangerous. also, cattle and other animals eat these plastic bags along with other garbage. since this plastic bag is non-degradable, it gets accumulated in the poor animal's body choking it to death eventually. also, some kinds of plastics release toxins in the environment and also in the animal's body thus killing it. almost all plastics are non-biodegradable in nature.. they do not combine with soil or atmosphere.. they remain as pollutants & cause serious respiratory disorders when inhaled their burnt air.. it mostly composes of sulphur compounds Non Biodegradable Materials Biodegradable materials are referred to the materials which can be decomposed by the action of fungi, bacteria or other living organisms.
