Why is your 99 Honda Prelude burning oil?
h22a motors are oil burners. most likely its the valve seals, or piston rings. in my case it was the piston rings though. the sleeves on the h22 is way to hard of material and it wears down the rings really fast. try some aftermarket rings if you plan on replacing them
Is it possible to put a 2.3L V-TECH 5spd engine from a 2002 Honda Accord into a 1987 Honda Prelude 2.0 Si?
Heavier oil will move slower and maintain higher oil pressure. The heavier oil will be slower to get past the piston rings and the valve stem seals, resulting in less oil burning. Heavier oil is generally better for worn engines, but if the engine isn't worn, you should use the thinner grades of oil, as originally recommended.
1991 Nissan 300zx na stock and your friend has a 1999 Honda prelude with v-tech his car is faster on take off will your car overcome that Honda in the quarter mile.?
Ok it depends if both cars are five speed or atoumatic. If five speeds the prelude will have a little jump on the z but when the lag from take off ends the z should be in front. One thing about the prelude is they have a higher tach limit than the z but the z is also v6 and the prelude hast v-tech with helps alot i had a 94 twin turbo z with…
Your 99 Honda civic cat clogged up so you gutted it now smells really bad is this to be expected with a Honda?
The clogged cat and the foul smell have the same cause. This cause is probably a misfire but could be caused by burning fluids that are not a suitable fuel. It is perfectly normal (on any car Honda or otherwise) for an odor to occur when you continue to drive it when you know it is not running normally.
Is the only difference between a front and rear oxygen sensor the length of the wire or are the sensors themselfx different?
The simple reality is, it's either leaking or burning. If you can't find a leak, it's burning at a slow enough rate that the catalytic converter is burning it before it goes out the exhaust as smoke. Note, however, that condition will quickly change once the converter is fouled, then you get to purchase a new engine AND a catalytic converter.
