social implications on fireworks are because of the noise they produce. i am a pyrotechnician in Scotland, and we are always having complaints about the noise. so much that last year a councilor complained that we scared her dog so we had to have a silent show for our local guy Fawkes night, completely destroying the effect of the fireworks.
A friend told me to give my dogs chamomile tea. (I think it won't do them too much harm.) They get really nervous and scared when there are thunder or fireworks going. I did try. Maybe they didn't drink enough. You can give your dog the tea when they are thirsty, not when they are scared. So they may drink more and some better result may be observed.
