Unusual atmospheric conditions. However, the timing of the question is a little suspicious, so I'm going to answer a question you didn't ask also.

There are about 29.5 days from one full moon to the next. This means that there are a little over 12 full moons in a year, and once in a while there are two full moons in the same month. For some reason I don't fully understand, people call the second full moon in a month a "blue moon". It has nothing to do with the color of the moon, and the moon is no more likely to lookblue on the second full moon in a month than it is at any other full moon.

When its farther from the horizon it looks smaller because there are less - terrestrial objects to compare its size to. When it is on the horizon, it looks bigger because its closer to objects we can compare its size too. Try holding a dime up at arms length when the moon is at the horizon and then again when its high in the sky - you will see it is definitely always the same size. On a side note the moon moved farther away from the earth at the rate of about 1" per year!

Why do you see a blue moon?

A blue moon can refer to the second full moon in a month or the moon actually being blue. We sometimes see a full moon twice in one month due to the moon's cycle of slightly less than one month. A moon which is actually blue may result from pollutants or dust in the atmosphere, making the moon look blue.

Why is the moon gray yellow sometimes blue?

I don't know for gray and yellow but for blue... The moon is only blue every 10 years or something. The reference is called "once in a blue moon" which means it's a really long time. The moon is only blue when there are two full moons in one month. That's 28 days. Blue moons can last up to a week.
