No one really knows for sure... The truth is though, NO ONE KNOWS WHETHER OR NOT YOU WILL NOT END UP WITH THAT CERTAIN SOMEONE.
They can't truly say that they won't, but on the other side of the coin, you can't say that you will end up with them.
I know this from experience. I love this girl and she will swear up and down that she will NEVER be with me, but lately her reactions say she DOES have feelings for me. She might not want to admit this to herself, but someday (hopefully soon) she will have too.
The point is this, You might not or you might. There is no way to know for sure... The problem comes in when you make that person all of your world. There is a fine difference between that person being the center and all of your universe. If you let them be all, you're in trouble. The best thing to do make sure they are a huge part of your life, but not the center, much less all of it.
