My sister's 2002 has the same problem. The first thing I would try is to change the fuse- look on the right side of the panel next to the glove box (if it is not there, check your owners manual). If you change the fuse and it immediately blows again then it is likely a short. I am still looking for a wiring diagram to try to locate it.

Once the screws are undone u should be able to slowly pull the whole light assembly out ( might require a littel tuggen if they havent been taken out in a while ) once that's done u should be able to replace the lights.
