The horn is located below the passenger head light.
This may or may not help. I had to change the horn on a 2003 Alero, I found it behind the passenger side headlight. The headlight easily poped out after lifting two clips. The horn was in two pieces, a high tone horn and a low tone horn and was very easily replaced. Good Luck!
A palindrome for blowing a horn could be: 'toot'.

The horn is located behind the passenger headlight. You have to remove the inner plastic part of the fender to get to it .

Parp, beep, toot or blast.
The 2001 Alero (probably the 2004 as well) has the horn relay in the black fuse/relay box under the hood close to the fire wall at the driver side. There is a thumb screw on top and when you open the lid it shows a list of fuses and relays. The horn relay is #21.
There are sever possibilities to the horn not blowing consistently. The horn relay or horn button are the most common followed by a loose wiring connection or a defective horn.
There are 3 fuse boxes on an '03 Alero. The block with the horn fuse is under the hood. If you're at the front of the grill looking under the hood, the fuse box is on the drivers side closer to the windshield. It is rectangular (about 6" by 8") and has a fuse symbol with a little lightning bolt on it. The star knob is the only thing that holds the cover on. The horn fuse on mine is #21, a larger gray 4 prong fuse. Good Luck with that one.
The horn relay may be faulty. Try replacing that.
can only be one of 2 things either you horn contacts behind the steering wheel center are stuck or your horn relay is stuck try removing the battery cable for a few seconds and see if that fixes it! might possible let it break the circuit and and stop it from blowing when you hook the cable back!
The horn is located behind the passenger headlight and the only way to get to it is by removing the inner plastic fender.
An abstract noun synonym for 'blowing ones own horn' is the gerund, boasting.
