The reason that the moon does not give out light of its own is because it is not a gas and is it a solid that does not have the right and material to properaly give off light and it used to be apart of earth and it is not a star

The Moon is made of Rock (or cheese if you believe it is made of Cheese) and rock and cheese have no light. Another is MOON IS AN OPAQUE OBJECT.

If it made its own light it would be a full moon all the time, the phases of the moon can only be explained if the moon is illuminated by light from the sun. Further if the moon produced its own light then a total lunar eclipse could not happen.
