Only plants are producers (ie they make thier food from air,water and sunlight), animals can not do this and they have to eat plants for food. Thefore without plants there would be no animals.

∙ 12y agoIt may sound a little disturbing, but animal waste has nutrients to help the soil and plants. When animals poop, decompose like let's say a mushroom growing out of the ground would take it in and when the a plant starts growing, the nutrients from the mushroom would give it off to the plant.
Animals are also helpful to the plants in pollination. Insects and birds, spreading pollen from one flower to the next. Animals are also helpful in spreading the seeds from one place to another.
